Two Rivers Supports Biofuels
The use of biofuels, including ethanol, biodiesel, and cellulosic renewables is scheduled to increase from 9 billion gallons in 2008 to 36 billion gallons by 2022—thanks to the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 (signed by President Bush in mid December). As a long-time supporter of home-grown, renewable energy, we’re excited to provide you with a wide range of biofuel options.
Did you know we offer:- The only E85 pump in Marion County. You’ll find it at our fuel station in Pella.
- E10, a popular option for many motorists.
- Biodiesel at our pumps and on our delivery trucks. We are proud to offer B2 and B5 blends.
Fueling the future To support the future of renewable energy, the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 requests studies on the feasibility of ethanol pipelines, higher blend levels, and the optimization of flex-fuel vehicles. In addition, it will increase the Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards to 35 miles per gallon by 2020—the first congressional increase in 32 years.
Bob Dinneen, President of the Renewable Fuels Association, has said that history will look back on this new biofuels act as the moment when America chose a new energy policy path. Two Rivers Cooperative is pleased to help support home-grown, renewable energy in Iowa. For more information, contact us at 800-344-5628.
