Over the years, farmers across Two Rivers Cooperative territory have been proactive in integrating conservation practices into their farm operations. This includes the longtime use of no-till and minimum till farming practices.
The past several years have seen the use of cover crops become an ever-increasing practice along with the increased usage of nitrification inhibitors (N Serve).
The 2018 sign-up period for cost-share to help producers install nutrient reduction practices is now underway at the Soil and Water Conservation Districts (SWCD) across the area.
We encourage all producers to consider adding these important conservation tools to their farming practices. These practices are designed to help protect your land and improve water quality across the State of Iowa. We recommend you meet with your local SWCD to determine your options as soon as possible as the funds available for this program are limited.
