A New Face in Agronomy Department

There is a new face in the Two Rivers Agronomy Department. Taylor Janicek joined the co-op team this month and will be working out of the Otley location handling Agronomy Sales and Precision Ag. Her responsibilities will include creating variable rate application maps, serving as the liaison with our new aerial image company, MAVRX, as well as prescribing chemical, fertilizer and hybrid recommendations to growers.

Taylor grew up on a cash-crop and cattle farm in Mid-Michigan, where she was very active in the 4-H and FFA programs, which helped her develop a deep passion for agriculture. She decided to pursue her passion for agriculture by obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness Management and a minor in Agronomy from Michigan State University in May of 2015. Just prior to graduation, Taylor accepted a full time position with Crop Production Services as a Crop Consultant, where she worked with corn, soybean, wheat, sugar beet and dry bean growers.

Having a solid foundation in crop nutrients and fertilizer recommendations, Taylor will be an invaluable asset to Two Rivers. Taylor says it is her passion to give growers solid recommendations on how to properly feed their crops throughout the season. She believes the best way to solve nutrient issues is through soil sampling and variable rate applications.  As a firm believer in precision agriculture, Taylor strongly suggests every farmer should have the technology in their toolbox, as it helps farmers and agronomists enforce the four Rs: Right Resource, Right Rate, Right Time, and Right Place. Taylor is excited to continue to watch technology increase in the agricultural industry and see where it will go.

When asked, Taylor described why she is thrilled to be working at Two Rivers. “I’m excited to work in an environment where agronomists work collaboratively to better themselves, their company and their grower’s bottom line. I love the community atmosphere and how there is a general passion for agriculture in this area and I’m excited to learn from the infinite amount of knowledge here at Two Rivers Cooperative.”

If you are in the Otley area, be sure to stop in and introduce yourself to Taylor. We look forward to the wealth of knowledge she will bring to Two Rivers.
